UCI 2.2 New Zealand Cycle Classic 22 - 26 January

The squad flies out to NZ on Friday the 20th of January to take on a quality field in the 30th NZCC.

UCI 2.2  NZCC  Result

A huge week for the chaps with wild weather and torrid cross winds wreaking havoc.  Jordan had a huge week getting into breaks on each and every day and very unlucky not to come away with a stage win.  His 7th place on GC was his best result on the road in a few years.  His leadership and positive attitude were inspiring for all the guys.

Adam rode his best GC stage race also with his overall result not an adequate reflection of his endeavours during the tour.  His ride on day 4 was particularly impressive in torrid consitions.

Nick rode will and enjoyed a day in the box on stage 3 in the late break.  His form is returning read for a huge week of skiing in Europe.

Ryan Cavanagh and Kurtis had strong rides but were both buffeted out of the race on Stage 4.  Cav came into the race fighting a bug and never fully recovered.  Kurtis had a great ride on the Queens stage (stage 2) but was belted by the crosswinds on day 4.

Big thanks to the event organisers for a terrific weak and to the support crew who aided the lads all week.  We could not have hoped for a better start to 2017.

Jordan Kerby - 7th GC
